Group members in front of the Sacré Coeur

Some of Montmarte's famous steps

Tuesday was spent in Montmarte, a historic neighborhood once home to Picasso, Degas and Renoir, not to mention my beloved movie Amélie. We enjoyed a guided uphill walk towards the stunning Sacré Coeur. The view of Paris from the top of Montmarte's hill was beautiful as the landmark itself.

Feeling increasingly energetic after lunch (I had croque-monsieur and a Coke) we headed towards the Musee d'Orsay. I spent a wonderful afternoon viewing masterpieces by Renoir, Degas, Cezanne, Monet and countless other legendary artists.
